Taro roots, bananas, sweet potatoes and sago (palm) are the staple foods. A variety of leafy vegetables are available. Coconut is used in cooking. Fish and other seafood are popular with the people. Coconuts, guavas, mangoes, papayas, passion fruits, pawpaws, pineapples and watermelons are grown.
