Formally known as the Republic of China, the country is situated on the east of Asia. The Pacific Ocean is on its east. China occupies seven percent of the world’s total surface area. One of the world's fastest growing economies, China has successfully established Special Economic Zones and special incentives for foreign investors. Initially an agro-based economy, crops include rice, wheat, maize, millet, sorghum, soy beans, rapeseed, sesame, sugar and tea. Industries such as iron and steel, shipbuilding, and vehicle manufacture were built up with help of Russian loans. Other industries include armaments, commercial space launch vehicles, satellites, telecommunications equipment, cement, construction, chemicals, and food processing. Today, China is a world leader in many products such as electronics, toys, textiles and footwear. Chinese cuisine can be divided in to Cantonese and Sichuan. They are available nearly in all parts of the world and has wide acceptance.
